Major (Retd.) Hafiz Uddin Ahmed Bir Bikram, a 6-time former MP from Bhola-3 constituency, minister and member of the central BNP standing committee, said that BNP leaders and activists have been subjected to many injustices during the 16 years of Awami League misrule. Many of those involved in the torture and oppression, including the Awami League party chief, have fled. The July-August massacre will be tried on Bengali soil, God willing. He told the leaders and workers that no one will take the law into their own hands. Those who occupied houses, businesses and harassed them by filing false cases will be punished through the law. We want to gradually bring Bangladesh to the peak of development under the leadership of Begum Khaleda Zia.
