Will go back to previous curriculum: education adviser

The new curriculum is not viable as it is not viable, said the Interim Government Education and Planning Advisor Professor Otahid Uddin Mahmud.

He made this comment to reporters on the first working day of the Secretariat on Sunday.

The education advisor said, ‘The current curriculum is not very practical. Especially in terms of assessment system. I will go back to the previous curriculum as far as possible. But this will be done in such a way that the students who are in the new curriculum will not be uncomfortable. This will be refined.’

‘We will not go back to the present, which will not match the present. If the previous one returns, they will have to match what they have got, so we have to work very quickly.’

In response to a question about Public University, O'ahid Uddin Mahmud said, ‘We have been under the same devaluation for so long. The posts in many universities are vacant. It is very challenging to fill it. But we will want to fill the university very soon.’

The textbook board has suspended all the work including training in the new curriculum, NCTB Chancellor Prof. Md.
