Today, Wednesday 10 Muharram, the holy Ashura, the day is mourning for the followers of Islam. On this day in 61 A.H., Karbala was martyred by the beloved son of Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH) on the banks of the river Euphrates. He is the son of Hazrat Ali (RA) and Hazrat Fatima (RA).
After the death of Hazrat Ali, Hazrat Mu'tabita (RA) became the caliph. During his lifetime he nominated his son Itajid as a succession.
