The students and the public did not give their lives in the July movement to wait for the next government to provide a legal basis by creating some reforms and a charter.
Jamaat's Central Assistant Secretary General Advocate Ehsanul Mahbub Zubair said, the July 24th mass uprising is the achievement of the nation's historic and bloody struggle. The July warriors are the proud children of the nation. In exchange for their blood, the country has been freed from fascism. The July warriors' movement for the legal basis of the July Charter and the incident of their being injured again is shameful for the nation. The July warriors must be given due status immediately and the July Charter must be given a legal basis. Jamaat is committed to fulfilling the aspirations of the July mass uprising. Therefore, it has been making 5-point demands, including the legal basis of the July Charter and elections through the PR method. The government must take effective initiatives to fulfill these demands.

He made these remarks while speaking as the chief guest at the Rukon conference organized by Sylhet Metropolitan Jamaat on Friday (October 17). The Rukon conference was held under the chairmanship of Jamaat's Central Working Committee member and Sylhet Metropolitan Ameer Muhammad Fakhrul Islam and was conducted by Metropolitan Nayeb-e-Ameer Dr. Nurul Islam Babul. All the leaders of the Metropolitan Working Committee and all the Rukons participated in the conference.
At the Rukon conference, Jamaat leaders said that the upcoming elections are very important for the country and the nation. To ensure a landslide victory in this election, the Rukons must play a leading role. It must be remembered that the main objective of the workers of the Islamic Movement is to achieve the pleasure of Allah. Currently, people's trust and love for Jamaat in every town of the country has increased several times. The Islamic Movement must be spread everywhere by adopting an intellectually based approach.
