17 killed in Israeli strike on Gaza home

At least 17 people were killed in Israeli air strikes on the al-Burej refugee camp in central Gaza on Tuesday, the territory's Civil Defense Agency said, as the Israeli military continued to attack Hamas positions there.

The organization's spokesman, Mahmoud Bassal, said that a missile fired from an Israeli warplane hit the three-story house of the Abdul Hadi family in the refugee camp.

Their teams recovered 17 bodies, including children, and several others injured from there. Bassal added that the bodies of the dead and injured were taken to Al-Awda Hospital in Nuseirat camp and Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital in Deir al-Balah city. Staff at Al-Awda Hospital also confirmed the number of casualties.

The spokesman also said that several airstrikes have been carried out in central and northern Gaza since early Tuesday morning local time.

Witnesses and rescuers also said that the Israeli military operation continues in Jabalia, where troops have launched ground attacks in recent days. On the other hand, an Israeli military statement said that air strikes in Jabalia over the past day killed about "20 terrorists" and that the army destroyed a weapons depot in the area.

The Israeli army said on Sunday that troops had surrounded Jabalia in response to signs that Hamas was regrouping there despite a year of attacks and heavy fighting.

In a separate statement, the Israeli military said it had killed three Hamas fighters who took part in the October 7 attack.

They were killed in an airstrike on a school in the Daraz Tufah area on September 30.
