Meanwhile, a meeting to resolve the Palestinian and Israeli states was held in Madrid, Spain, on Sunday. There, high-level diplomats from 20 European and Arab countries called for an end to Israel's attacks on Gaza.
The Gaza Civil Defense Agency said the Israeli strike set the Fahmi al-Zarzawi School on fire. Gaza Civil Defense workers were later able to bring the fire under control.
The school was used by many displaced people from Gaza. In an updated post on Telegram, the Gaza Civil Defense said rescue workers had recovered at least 13 bodies from the school after the attack. 21 people were reported injured in the attack so far.
Nearly half of the school building was destroyed in the Israeli attack. Many people are buried under the rubble. The Gaza Civil Defense Organization fears that the number of casualties in this incident will rise.
Israeli forces have intensified attacks on various areas of Gaza for several days. Local medical sources reported that at least 57 people were killed in attacks across Gaza on Sunday.
Israel has been carrying out indiscriminate attacks on Gaza since October 7, 2023. This attack has killed about 54,000 Palestinians in Gaza. Most of them are women and children. About 123,000 people have been injured during this period.
