Bangladeshi media did not report on discussion on Bangladesh in Trump-Modi meeting

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who is visiting the United States, has briefed US President Trump on the latest situation in Bangladesh. Indian Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri made this information available to reporters in Washington at a briefing.

Trump and Modi met at the White House on Thursday. They discussed various bilateral issues as well as regional and global issues. Indian Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri briefed reporters in Washington on the topics discussed during the Trump-Modi meeting.

In response to a journalist's question, he said that there was a discussion between the two leaders on Bangladesh. He said, "The Prime Minister (Narendra Modi) has expressed his views, in fact his concerns about the recent developments in Bangladesh and how India sees the situation."

Modi also conveyed India's expectations regarding Bangladesh to Trump, Misri said. "We hope that the situation in Bangladesh will move in a direction where we can move towards a constructive and stable relationship. But there are concerns about the situation there and the Prime Minister (Narendra Modi) has conveyed those issues to President Trump," he said.
