Five people have died in the country from dengue fever, a disease transmitted by the Aedes mosquito, in the last 24 hours. 981 patients have been admitted to hospitals during this period.
The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) announced this information on the dengue situation in the country on Tuesday (October 8).
According to the Department of Health, the number of dengue patients admitted to hospitals this year has increased to 38,789 with new patients.
Of the patients admitted in the past day, 376 were admitted to various hospitals in the two city corporation areas of Dhaka. Apart from this, 169 patients were admitted to the hospital in Dhaka division, 160 in Chittagong, 95 in Khulna, 93 in Barisal division, 47 in Rajshahi, 30 in Rangpur, 17 in Mymensingh and 4 in Sylhet division due to dengue.
Currently, there are 3,884 patients admitted to various hospitals in the country.
