The Meteorological Department has forecast heavy to very heavy rainfall in four divisions of the country, including Dhaka. This information was given in the forecast for the next 72 hours from 10 am on Thursday (September 12).
The notification signed by meteorologist Monowar Hossain said that due to the active monsoon over Bangladesh, heavy (44-88 millimeters) to very heavy (289 millimeters) rainfall is likely to occur in parts of Dhaka, Khulna, Barisal and Chittagong divisions in the next 72 hours from 10 am today.
Meanwhile, the warning issued for river ports from 9 am to 6 pm has said that rain or thundershowers may occur from the south or southeast at a speed of 45 to 60 kilometers per hour over Jessore, Kushtia, Khulna, Barisal, Patuakhali, Noakhali, Comilla, Chittagong and Cox's Bazar regions. Along with this, temporary gusty or squally winds may blow. River ports in these areas have been asked to display warning signal number one.
