Herbs that control thyroid problems

To control weight, the metabolic rate needs to be good. This metabolic rate is controlled by thyroid hormone. If the thyroid gland does not function properly, this is where the problem arises. If more or less thyroid hormone is secreted from the thyroid gland, then it is understood that the patient is suffering from thyroid problems. In this case, either the patient's weight will increase excessively, or it will decrease significantly. Apart from this, various complications can occur in the body.

There are two main types of thyroid - hypothyroidism and hyperthyroidism. In hypothyroidism, weight increases, and in hyperthyroidism, the patient loses weight. In addition, symptoms such as fatigue, weakness, mental depression, frequent colds and coughs, dry skin, and increased heart rate also occur.

Thyroid patients have to take regular medicines. Along with medicines, Ayurveda also mentions several herbal ingredients. Even after taking them, the thyroid hormone balance remains normal.

India's renowned Ayurvedic physician Sumit Sur said, 'Thyroid is a metabolic disorder. That's why Ayurveda talks about foods that will help in metabolism.' Generally, thyroid patients stay healthy by eating herbal foods like turmeric, ashwagandha, kanchan, guggul, and shatamuli, said Dr. Sur.

Ashwagandha is widely used in Ayurveda. This herbal ingredient helps in reducing the levels of cortisol hormone (stress hormone) and keeps the thyroid gland functioning properly. Ashwagandha is very beneficial for those who have hypothyroidism. Similarly, turmeric is also very beneficial for the thyroid. It reduces inflammation in the body and also keeps the liver functioning properly. Including such foods in your daily diet will keep thyroid problems under control.
