The government has decided to extend the upcoming Autumn Durga Puja holiday by one day and the notification will be issued on Tuesday, said the Chief Advisor Special Assistant Mahfuz Alam.
He gave this information to reporters after inspecting the Durga Puja celebrations and security measures at Ramna Kali Temple at Sohraradi Udyan in the capital on Tuesday.
Mahfuz told reporters, ‘Puja holiday will be held one day. There will be a holiday of Puja on Thursday. The notification will be given today.’
According to the public holiday calendar, next October 13, Sunday is the puja holiday and October 11 and 12 are weekend holidays. This list is added on Thursday, the government employees are getting four days off.
‘The government is working to prevent the domestic and foreign conspiracy going on in the country. The government is trying to catch the miscreants. No conspirators will be smitten.’
