6-month-old baby files writ in High Court seeking paternity leave

Six months old children have filed a writ in the High Court following the instructions to make the paternity leave policy of the employees in all the institutions of the country.

On Wednesday (3rd July), 6-month-old baby Nubaid bin Sadi and his mother Supreme Court lawyer Ishrat Hasan filed a writ in the High Court.

A total of 11 people including Cabinet Secretary, Secretary of Public Administration Ministry and Secretary of Law Ministry have been made defendants in the writ.

The idea that the role of mother is only important in the care of a newborn is changing. The role of father is also increasing day by day. It takes a lot of time to get well after a cesarean, and the intensive care of the newborn and mother is the same.

The writ also states that there is no opportunity for paternity leave, it is very difficult to look after the wife and newborns of the new fathers. Paternity leave provisions are made.

Supreme Court lawyer Ishrat Hasan said that the paternity leave policy is in conflict with Articles 7, 27, 28, 29, 31 and 32 of the Constitution.
