The withdrawal of the notification issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs banning Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami and Islami Chhatra Shibir as a political party has been issued on Wednesday (August 28). The movement of the students is at its peak, when the government of Sheikh Hasina is on the verge of collapse, on August 1, the Awami League government issued a notification banning the politics of Jamaat-Shibir.
The notification issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs states, ‘Since, in the judgment of some cases of the International Criminal Tribunal, Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami (formerly Jamaat-e-Islami/Jamaate-e-Islami Bangladesh) and its affiliated organization Bangladesh Islami Chhatra Shibir (formerly Islam Chhatrasangh) have been considered responsible for the genocide, war crimes and crimes against humanity in the 1971 liberation war.
As the government has sufficient evidence that the government has been involved in direct and incitement to the recent killings, destructive activities and terrorist activities of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami and its affiliated organization Bangladesh Islami Chhatra Shibir, and since, the government believes that all its affiliates including Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami and Bangladesh Islami Chhatra Shibir are involved in terrorist activities.
Therefore, the Government, under the powers given in Section 18(1) of the Anti-Terrorism Act, 2009, banned all its affiliated organizations including Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami and Bangladesh Islami Chhatra Shibir as political parties and organizations. In Schedule-2 of the said Act, Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami and Bangladesh Islami Chhatra Shibir listed all its affiliates as a prohibited entity.
Advocate Mohammad Shishir Monir, the lawyer of the party, said that the notification issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs banning the politics of Jamaat-e-Islami and Islami Chhatra Shibir, in the case of withdrawing the notification banning the politics of Jamaat-Shibir, said that the Ministry of Home Affairs has issued a notification issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs. The government has withdrawn and the gazette will be published today.
He said that the legal pursuit will now be started to get the registration back.The Awatami League government has banned the Jamaat-Shibir to take the student movement in a different direction.
