US President Donald Trump has refused to take any role in the Bangladesh issue, making it clear that he is relying on Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi in this regard.
In a speech on Friday, Trump said, “I am leaving Bangladesh to Prime Minister Modi.”
Trump and Modi discussed India-US trade and diplomatic relations during a bilateral meeting in Washington. However, Trump declined to take any role in whether the US deep state was involved in the ongoing situation in Bangladesh.
According to analysts, Trump's comments could add a new dimension to the geopolitics of South Asia.
