BGB has seized 850 kg of hilsa for smuggling in India at Comilla border. The fishes were seized from Chanpur Bridge area of Panchthubi Union of Comilla Adarsh Sadar Upazila on Sunday.
Comilla 10 BGB captain Lt. Iftekhar Hossain confirmed the poison on Monday (September 16).
He said, around 5 pm, a gang was going to smuggle the fish illegally in India at 5 pm, after receiving the news, BGB members conducted an operation. The seized hilsa is measured in 850 kg.
He also said that the current market value of Tk 9 lakh 52 thousand is sold and deposited money in the government treasury.
