Pradeep Kumar Rat:
A young man named Pappu (20) was caught red-handed by the locals who were stealing a battery-operated auto-rickshaw in Rakhtpur.
Later, when the local residents beat him up and detained him, the police came to the police station and he was the son of Ismail Hossain of Charruhita village of Laxmipur Sadar Upazila.
The incident took place on Monday (July 15) morning in the board office area of Devipur village of Unit No. 10 of the upazila.
Ratpur Police Station OC Ishachin Farooq Majumdar admitted the truth of the incident and said that the owner of the auto rickshaw, Md. Shahjahan Badi, has filed a case in Ratpur Thana.
