The water development board and the victims are reported to have received rain overnight, which has increased more than two to three feet of water, with 40 areas of the coast, four municipalities and 40 areas of the coast are still under water.
For the past two days, the flood waters of Feni and No'khali have entered Laxmipur in the Rahmatkhali and Dakatita canals, especially in the eastern part of Sadar Upazila, including Chandraganj, Charshahi, Dighali, Mandari, Bangakhan, North Jhatapur Unit, which has been flooded in about four feet of water.
In the western side of Charkadira-Hajiganj village of Ramgati and Kamalnagar upazila, rainwater has been flooded in the Bhuluta river, a vast town has been submerged in water for 25 days. More than three lakh people of Ramgati-Kamalnagar and Nothakhali underchars and Charttuta villages are suffering from the waterlogging.
Meanwhile, the crisis of clean water is becoming evident. So far, more than 20,000 people have sheltered in various shelters in the district. Many ghastani reliefs have reached.
Several families of the victims have known that they are not getting any kind of relief. They are demanding to give relief to everyone quickly.
Saurabh Hossain, an official at Ramgati Abhawa Warning Office in Laxmipur, said the rain had been 70 mm in the last 24 hours. The floods are deteriorating and the rain will continue for a few days and then the situation will be normal.
Executive Engineer of Laxmipur Water Development Board. Nahid Uz Zaman said, ‘The water has been very high in the last two days. Especially in the last 24 hours, there has been a foot of water somewhere and two feet in some places. In the meantime, all the doors are closed at the sluicegate of the hut of Majuchaudhury, the water of the Jota is closed, the water of Feni and Notakhali is entering Lakshmipur through the river Rahmatkhali, which is causing further deterioration of the flood.’
