Students of various educational institutions are protesting by blocking the Lakshmipur-Dhaka Mahasak in protest against the attack on quota reform and protesting students. Today, on Thursday around 12 noon, the students took out a procession from different places of the city in front of the DC office of the Laxmipur-Dhaka Mahasam.
The protest program was attended by 100 students from various educational institutions including Laxmipur Government College and Mahila Government College, which has stopped traffic on both sides, resulting in a long traffic jam.
The students said that they will not go back home until the quota reforms, and if the students are not arrested, they will be given a stricter program if they do not arrest the swindlers, while there are some long-distance vehicles from the Laxmipur district bus terminal.
Laxmipur Additional Superintendent of Police Hasan Mostafa Swapan said that efforts are being made to calm the students and the situation is under the control of the police. If any untoward incident is tried, it will be strictly suppressed.
