On Tuesday (September 10), Ambassador of the Netherlands appointed to Bangladesh Irma Van Duren came to a courtesy meeting Dr. Yunus commented that he wanted the cooperation of the Netherlands in the reform of various institutions in Bangladesh.
The current government is committed to making important reforms in education, finance, labor sector, election commission, judiciary, civil administration and business environment. Yunus said the institutions should be revamped and reformed and the Netherlands government's cooperation in these reforms is sought.
The Rohingya crisis, the chief adviser, said the Rohingyas who grew up in the camps must be educated and trained, and should be given importance in this regard so that their future does not darken.
In the North, the Ambassador of the Netherlands Irma Van Durren said that the country has full support for the interim government, which will strengthen relations with the Netherlands Bangladesh in terms of agriculture, maritime, industry, youth, knowledge economy, labor, environment and flood management.
Duren assured that more Dutch investment will be requested to come out in several sectors including agriculture, water and new energy.
The courtesy meeting was attended by Senior Secretary for SDG Affairs Lamia Morshed, Foreign Ministry Director General Kazi Russell Parvez and Deputy Dutch Ambassador Thej Waudstra.
