Former President Badruddoza Chowdhury is no more.

Former President Professor AQM Badruddoza Chowdhury passed away.Inna Lillahi and Inna Ilaihi Raziun.

He died under treatment at the Women's Medical College Hospital in the capital on Friday around 3:30 am.

The news of Badruddoza Chowdhury's death at the hospital was confirmed by his son Mahi B Chowdhury.

He told reporters that his father breathed his last at 3:15 pm.

Former President Professor AQM Badruddoza Chowdhury was admitted to the capitalsara Uttara Mahila Medical College Hospital in the capitals on Wednesday due to lung infection.

The former president was suffering from old age diseases, 95 years old, and he was admitted to the medical college several times before and he breathed his last in the institution of his own hands.

Professor Badruddoza Chowdhury started his political career by joining BNP in 1978. He was the founder secretary general of the party. He was the Deputy Prime Minister in Gitaur Rahman's government.

AQM Badruddoza Chowdhury was elected President of the People's Republic of Bangladesh on November 14, 2001 on the nomination of BNP.

He resigned from the post of President on 21 June 2002 for political reasons and then on 8 May 2004 he established a political party called Alternative Bangladesh. He was the president of that party.
