Nipun lost, Misha-Dipjol won

The election of the Film Artists Association for the 2024-2026 term has concluded amidst enthusiasm. Popular actor and past two-term president Misha Sawdagar was elected as the new president for this term with 265 votes. Mahmud Koli was defeated with 170 votes.

Actor Monowar Hossain Dipjol was elected as the general secretary with 225 votes. Nipun Akhter (209) was defeated with 17 fewer votes.

The results were announced at around 6:45 am on Saturday (April 20).

Masum Parvez Rubel (231) and DA Tayeb (234) won the posts of vice president, assistant general secretary Arman (237), organizing secretary Joy Chowdhury (255), international affairs secretary Alexander Bo (296), office and publicity secretary Jackie Alamgir (245), culture and sports secretary Mamun Hasan Emon (235) and treasurer candidate Kamal (231).

Nine people have been elected as executive members from the Misha-Dipjol Parishad. They are Sucharita (228), Rozina (243), Aliraj (239), Subrata, Dilara Yasmin (218), Shahnur (245), Nana Shah (210), Ratna Kabir (263) and Chunnu (248).

Riana Parvin Poli (220) and Soni Rahman (230) were elected from the Koli-Nipun Parishad.

In his immediate reaction after winning, Dipzol said, "We are all one. We will all work together."

Voting ended at 6:20 pm on Friday. Earlier, voting began at 9:30 am at the FDC's Shilpi Samity office amid tight security. According to Election Commission sources, 475 out of 570 votes were cast. This time, producer Khorshed Alam Khasru is serving as the Chief Election Commissioner.
