The general holiday of August 15 is being canceled on the occasion of the Day of Mourning. This information was revealed by the Ministry of Public Administration on Tuesday (August 13).
The source said that the holiday of August 15 will be canceled by the President's order. This general holiday on August 15 was given on the occasion of the National Mourning Day.
Officials concerned at the Ministry of Public Administration said that they are ready to issue a notification to cancel the general holiday of August 15. If they receive instructions from higher officials, the notification may be issued today, Tuesday (August 13). If for some reason the notification is not issued, it will be issued tomorrow, Wednesday.
Earlier, in a meeting with the interim government's chief advisor Dr. Muhammad Yunus, various political parties, including the BNP, suggested canceling the national mourning day and government holiday on August 15.
