Two workers died after a loft collapsed while they were working on the 7th floor of an under-construction building in Rajshahi.
The accident occurred in the Lakshipur Kachabazar area of Rajpara police station in the metropolis on Thursday (October 16) afternoon.
The deceased were identified as Anarul Islam (45) of Beira village in Paba upazila of Rajshahi and Sumon Hossain (45) of Batasonna village. Both were construction workers.
Police sources at Rajshahi Medical College (RMC) Hospital said that the two workers were brought to the hospital's emergency department after the accident. The doctors declared them dead at that time.
Rajpara Police Station Sub-Inspector (SI) Mohammad Ali said that the bodies of the two deceased workers are in the hospital morgue. Their relatives have submitted the death certificates to the police station. No case has been filed in this regard yet. The bodies will be handed over to the relatives after the legal process is completed.
