He said this to reporters while visiting Cooperative Jute Mills and Bangladesh Jute Mills in Palash, Narsingdi on Tuesday (April 21) morning.
The state minister said that the notification for the lease of the jute mills is going on. If the mills are launched, the economy will be supported by the economy. The government is mainly interested in managing these mills through public-private partnerships (PPP) and the public sector.
He said, "The factories of one Narsingdi had thousands of people's employment in these factories. It was an emotional one for the people of the area. If the mills are reopened, the 100% employment will be ensured from the local level. However, for the position of technical or expert, people from outside can be given to the people. This initiative will play an important role in the livelihood of the local people."
He also said that the quality of jute seeds is being given importance and research to bring back the lost heritage of golden fibers. Especially compared to the seeds from neighboring countries, the yield of indigenous seeds is being competitive, so that the Bangladesh Jute Research Institute (BJRI) is working with the Bangladesh Jute Research Institute (BJRI).
Additional Secretary of Textiles and Jute Ministry Subrata Shikder, Joint Secretary Hafsa Begum, Deputy Secretary Saiful Islam Azad and Shahadat Hossain Kabir, BJMC Chairman Kabir Uddin Shikder and Palash Upazila Executive Officer Ishtiaq Ahmed were present during the visit.
