State Minister for Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology Junaid Ahmed Palak has said that mobile internet services will be launched next Sunday or Monday.
He said this at 4 pm on Wednesday (July 24) at the main conference room of BTRC building in Agargaon.
The state minister for the overall issue of internet services said that broadband connectivity will be held from tonight.
He said, "Mobile internet services may be launched across the country on Sunday or Monday. Recently, we have faced a loss of Tk 70-80 crore per day, Facebook and YouTube are not obeying the laws of Bangladesh in any way, even they are not following their own policies.
He also said that Facebook is an American company. They follow the laws of the government of that country to the letter, but our country's policies are not followed. The state minister said that we will cooperate if the local entrepreneurs create social media apps as alternatives to Facebook, TikTok and YouTube, and they will be sending letters to Facebook, Tiktok and YouTube for the sake of violence. They should be present in the specific context.
