The local government department has removed 493 upazila chairmen across the country. Upazila Nirbahi Officers (UNO) will serve in place of the chairman.
On Sunday (August 18), a notification in this regard has been issued by the local government department
It has been said in the notification, hereby applying the Upazila Parishad (Amendment) Ordinance, 2024 Section 13(d) of Bangladesh, 493 Upazila Chelmen of Bangladesh have been removed from their respective posts.
Last Friday, the Khasya of the ‘Stani Govt (City Corporation) (Amendment) Ordinance, 2024’, ‘Stani Govt (Murriday) (Amendment) Ordinance, 2024’, ‘Zilla Parishad (Amendment) Ordinance, 2024’ and ‘Upzilla Parishad (Amendment) Ordinance, 2024’ approved the Interim Government's Advisory Council. It should be issued in the form of an ordeal later.
The amendment will be able to remove any city corporation and municipal mare and councilor in public interest if it is considered vital in special circumstances. Similarly, the district council chairman and members and upazila parishad chairman, vice chairman and female vice chairman and female vice-checkers can remove the government and give administrators to them at the same time.
