13 people have died so far

Kamrul Islam, Secretary of the Ministry of Disaster Management and Relief, said that 13 people have died so far. At the moment, 887,629 families have been trapped in water.

He gave this information in a briefing at the Secretariat on Friday (August 23).

Kamrul Islam said, at the moment, 11 districts of the country are flooded. The flood CV is in Feni.

He said, till now 44 lakh 97 thousand 535 people have been affected and 8 lakh 87 thousand 600 families have been affected by these 11 districts.

The secretary of the relief ministry said that so far the list of injured has not been available. But 13 people have been reported dead. Among them, 4 people have been killed, 1 person in Feni, 2 in Chittagong, 1 in Noghakhali, 1 in Lakshmipur, 1 person in Brahman and 3 people in Cox's Bazar.

Kamrul Islam said that till Thursday, these districts have given a total of 3 crore 52 lakh taka and 20 thousand 150 tons of rice and 15 thousand dry food packets.

He said that the local administration in the flood affected districts of the Army, Air Force, Navy, Coast Guard, BGB, Police, Rover Scout and anti-discrimination student movement are working with all the local administrations to deal with the floods.

The Secretary of the Relief Ministry said if If it does not rain, the flood situation will improve in the next 24-48 hours, the northeastern and southeastern regions of the country are slowly decreasing.
