Citycell's owner company Pacific Bangladesh Telecom sent a letter to the Bangladesh Telecommunication Recognition Commission (BTRC) on September 1 and the two operating and radio equipment licenses were returned.
In the letter, the company claimed that their waves were suspended first due to political vendetta, for this, former Minister of State for Telecommunications Tarana Halim to the state. They have done it.
In the letter sent to BTRC, the bank loan, the bank debt, the loss of the employees, the loss of the 8 years, the revenue of the 2000 crore has been canceled, the government has been denied 430 crores.
In this regard, Pacific Telecom Head of Regulatory and Corporate Affairs Nishat Ali Khan said, "The poison is under trial in the court, so BTRC cannot cancel the license, claiming that the then government has abused its power and wants a remedy."
Incidentally, on June 11, 2017, BTRC closed the wave of Citycell, the only mobile operator of CDMA technology in the country.
