Shahbag Thana police have arrested five students in the case of PTT murderer named Tofazzal Hossain at Fazlul Haque Muslim Hall of Dhaka University (DU).
On Thursday (September 19), University Proctor Associate Professor Saifuddin Ahmed and Deputy Commissioner of Police (DC) of DMP's Midi and Public Relations Department Muhammad Talebur Rahman confirmed this information to BanglaNews.
The arrested are - Fazlul Haque Hall Branch Chhatra League's former Deputy Science and Technology Secretary and Physics Department student Md. Jalal Mita (25), Soil Water and Environment Department student Suman Mita (21), Nutrition and Food Science Institute Md. Mottakin Sakin, Geography Al Hossain Sajjad and Ahsanullah of Mathematics Department.
Proctor said that the initial evidence of hitting Tofazzal was that these students were arrested.
Talebur Rahman said that five students of Dhaka University have been arrested in the murder of Tofazzal Hossain and they will be handed over to the court after applying for remand.
Earlier, the incident of Tofazzal's murder, Dhaka University's estate advisor Amanullah filed a case in Shahbag Thana. After filing the case, the investigation officer and senior officials of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police visited the spot. Meanwhile, the administration has formed an investigation committee and the administration has formed an investigation report by 6 pm on Thursday.
