Former A.League minister Mostafizur Rahman Fizar has died

Former Primary and Mass Education Minister and President of Dinajpur District Aomi League Mostafizur Rahman Fizar passed away (Inna Lillahi Ota Inna Ilaihi Rajiun) and his father was 71 years old, leaving behind a large number of other entourages including his wife, two daughters, son-in-law and grandchildren.

Fizar died at a private hospital in the capital on Sunday at 8 pm, and he was suffering from incurable disease for some time, and his son-in-law Aomi League member Tariq Shami confirmed his death.

Mostafizur Rahman was elected as a member of the Dinajpur District Committee of Bangladesh Awtami League in 1977, Organizing Secretary of District Aoami League in 1980 and General Secretary in 1992. In the 2013 council, he was elected president of the District Aomi League.

Protesting the assassination of Bangabandhu on August 15, 1975, he was in jail on October 13 of that year and in 1990 he should go to jail for agitation.

Mostafizur Rahman was elected Member of Parliament for the first time in 1986. Then he was elected Member of Parliament from Dinajpur-5 (Fulbai-Parvatipur) Constituency in 1991, 1996, 2001, 2008, 2014, 2018 and lastly in 2024.

Fizar served as Minister of State for Forestry and Environment in 2009 and Minister of State for Lands from 31 July 2009 to 21 November 2013. Then he became Minister of Primary and Mass Education on January 12, 2014.

According to family sources, his constituency will be buried at Parvatipur Adarsh College ground in Dinajpur on Monday, September 30, at 10 am in the morning at the Phulbai Government College ground in Dinajpur and after the funeral at 12:30 noon at Rudrani Eidgah Maidan in the same upazila.
