Call to keep the bond of communal harmony intact in the spirit of anti-discrimination

He made this call in a message on the occasion of Durga Puja next Wednesday (October 9).

Professor Yunus extended his sincere greetings to all the Hindu citizens of the country on the occasion of Durga Puja, the main religious festival of the Hindu community.

He said, Durga Puja is not only a festival of Hindu community, it has now become a universal festival.The destruction of evil forces and the worship of truth and beauty is the main feature of Sharadee Durgotsava.

Highlighting communal harmony, the chief adviser said, "Bangladesh is a country of communal harmony. Our constitution has ensured equal rights of people of all religions and castes. This country is a safe home for all people regardless of religion and caste.

He also said that the interim government formed through an unprecedented uprising of students-labourers-crowd on August 5 is working to improve the fortunes of all irrespective of caste-religion-caste-group and ensure equal rights.

Professor Yunus wished all the citizens of Bangladesh peace, welfare and prosperity.
