Government sets new egg prices, effective from tomorrow

The government has set new prices for chicken eggs at the producer, wholesale and retail levels, with the new prices across the country from Wednesday (October 16). Mohammad Alim Akhtar Khan, Director General of Consumer Directorate, said that it will be effective.

The Director General of Consumer said this after a meeting with egg producers and suppliers on Tuesday (October 15) afternoon.

He said, from Wednesday, it has been decided to sell eggs at 10 taka 91 patsa, wholesale 11 taka 1 patsa, retail, 11 taka 87 pats, it will cost 142 taka per dozen for consumers.

Meanwhile, the Directorate of Consumer Protection is conducting an operation in the market to meet the fixed price of eggs, so the traders of Tejgaon have stopped selling eggs.

The price of eggs did not drop much in the raid, but in some wholesale markets, the sale of eggs was stopped or the businessmen were declining, there was a shortage in supply.

It is known in the few markets of the capital, that the red and white eggs of farm chickens are being sold at 12 taka 30 to 40.
