Jamaat-e-Islami Assistant Secretary General Maulana Rafiqul Islam Khan said, 'The PR system is the demand of the majority of the people of Bangladesh. There is no alternative to the PR system to prevent black money, terrorism, ballot box looting and to evaluate everyone's votes. You have noticed that diplomats from different countries are already regularly meeting the Jamaat Ameer. If Jamaat comes to power, we will not become kings, we will become servants of the citizens of the country and build a developed, prosperous and corruption-free country.'‘
He made these remarks while addressing the chief guest at a huge public meeting organized by the Baraigram Upazila Jamaat of Natore on Friday (October 17) afternoon at the Banpara Bypass area for five-point demands, including the July Charter and elections under the PR system.
Rafiqul Islam Khan said, 'The people of the country have brought Dr. Yunus to power with full dreams. They came to power by talking about the trial of fascists. But the allies and conspirators of fascism have become active around him. They are misleading the government and plotting to put it in the pockets of one party. Most of the people of the country want elections through PR methods.'‘
Referring to a survey of data from various organizations, he said, "72 percent of the people of Bangladesh want elections through the PR system. Let's get the people's verdict through a referendum to decide whether the people of the country want elections through the PR system or not."‘
He said, "In the upcoming elections, the people of the country will silently vote on the scales and create a silent revolution, InshaAllah. The absolute victory of Chhatra Shibir in the past four university student parliament elections has proven that. The upcoming parliamentary elections must be held under the PR system. We are agitating for the implementation of the July Charter and elections under the PR system. We want elections in February. However, before that, the legal basis of the July Charter must be ensured."‘
Jamaat's Awami League leader said, "If Jamaat comes to power, non-Muslims will be the best off. Non-Muslims will also get the same rights as a Muslim in all areas, including the religious field. Jamaat will provide all kinds of security to non-Muslims. Unemployment will be eliminated, 360 million hands of 180 million people will be transformed into power. Factories will be built for employment. All arrangements for separate employment will be made for mothers and sisters. Appropriate education will be provided for them."‘
