Housewife's hanging body found in Comilla, husband and family flee

The hanging body of a housewife has been recovered from Comilla's Homna, her parents alleged that her husband and family members killed their daughter and hanged them, and they called it suicide and later fled the house.

The deceased Samantha Akhter (19) is the wife of Shipan Mia of Nayakandi village in the upazila and the daughter of Abbas Mia of the same village. Last Friday night, the police recovered the hanging body of Samanta from her in-laws' house in Nayakandi village.

According to local sources, Samanta got married to Shipon Mia in the family about 9 months ago. After the marriage, Samanta started a quarrel with her in-laws. She continued to physically and mentally.

Samantha's father Abbas Mia and mother Shilpi Akhter alleged that their daughter was killed and hanged, they demanded a fair investigation and proper trial of the incident.

The investigating officer of the case, Sub-Inspector Mosleh Uddin, said that the police received the incident on Friday evening and found the body of Samanta hanging from the house of the house around 7 pm, and it is initially believed that the housewife's father Abbas Mia filed a wrongful death case at the Homna police station on Friday night.

The body was recovered and sent to Comilla Medical College Hospital for post-mortem after the post-mortem report will be known after receiving the post-mortem report, said Mohammad Rafiqul Islam, officer-in-charge of Homna police station.
