47th BCS: Exam boycott announcement a day before

After the continuous agitation demanding change of the 47th BCS written examination routine and the same, the candidates have finally announced the boycott of the exam.

On Wednesday (November 26) afternoon in the press conference in front of Madhur Canteen of Dhaka University, they complained that their just demands were ignored due to not giving adequate preparation, discrimination between old and new examinees and suppressing the protestors.

The candidates claim that the new schedule of the written examination is not changed. Many students are not in a position to take the exam, so they are forced to decide to boycott because of the call and importance of the examination from ‘human consideration’.

Saif Murad, who has been protesting for a long time under the banner of the 47th BCS written exam candidate, said that despite the long agitation, many people do not know the real picture of their condition, which is not right. Many students will boycott the exam. He also said that if the exam is unusually low, he will start the movement to demand a re-examination.

Saif Murad said, "For the last 30 days, they have tried to solve the problem at the door of various Samt PSCs and related authorities. The protestors have been attacked several times. We did not go on the road for the first 30 days. People did not know that we are protesting but the back is on the back of the government but the government is facing the end of the government. We have to give a program to attract attraction, which has caused people to suffer a little - we apologize for this.

He said in the country that A culture has been created where the many unreasonable demands based on muscle power are accepted, but their demands were only equal, so that the new candidates have the opportunity to prepare and the older candidates do not get into the competition.

In the written exam routine, he said, the old candidates have come to take another written exam three months ago, so they can be ready, but it is impossible to prepare for the new candidates, calling it a ‘discriminatory situation’.

Saif Murad alleged that 40-50 students were injured in their movement, some with more than 10 stitches on their heads. Although it is impossible to sit the test in the injured condition, he claimed that no representative from the PSC or the government has inquired.

"We have not given any political slogans, we have only sought the opportunity of fair competition, but the PSC chairman has put the test on us with the insistence of his roadmap.

On the other hand, the Government Service Commission (PSC) has remained steadfast in the previous decision so far, the commission has informed that the written examination of the 47th BCS will start tomorrow on November 27 as per the schedule.

The written examination will be held in these eight centers - Dhaka, Rajshahi, Chittagong, Khulna, Barisal, Sylhet, Rangpur and Mamsingh - but some of the related poison exams will be held only in Dhaka.
