Acting on a tip-off, law enforcement agencies raided the offices of Oxying (www.oxying.com), a web business located in the City Heart of Dhaka’s Naya Paltan, and arrested the owner, Faruk Siddique, on charges of aiding in the creation and hosting of websites that spread blasphemous and propaganda material. Law enforcement agencies said that during the raid, they discovered websites created and hosted by Oxying that were already under separate investigation for clients. Following the raid, several of these sites – optamic.com, search70.com and bengaljournal.com – have been taken offline, officials confirmed. Faruk Siddique, who is on bail, is barred from web development or hosting activities until the investigation is concluded.
