Dissanayake wins Sri Lankan presidential election
Leftist politician Anura Kumar Dissanayake has won the Sri Lankan presidential election. He made history by winning the second round of counting on Sunday evening. This was the first time in Sri Lanka's history that an election was counted in the second round. Earlier, in the first round of counting in the afternoon, no candidate received more than 50 percent of the total votes. Dissanayake received 42.31 percent of the votes in this round.
