23 High Court judges take oath

23 newly appointed judges of the High Court Division of the Supreme Court have taken oath. Chief Justice Syed Refaat Ahmed administered their oath at the Judges Lounge of the Supreme Court on Wednesday (October 9). The oath-taking ceremony was conducted by Registrar General of the Supreme Court Aziz Ahmed. Yesterday (Tuesday) by the order of the President, 23 people were appointed as judges of the High Court Division of the Supreme Court. The notification was issued by the Law Ministry late at night. The notification signed by Law Secretary Md. Golam Rabbani said that the Honorable President, by virtue of the powers conferred on him by Article 98 of the Constitution of the People's Republic of Bangladesh, has appointed the 23 persons mentioned in (a)-(b) below as Additional Judges of the Supreme Court, High Court Division of Bangladesh for a period not exceeding two years from the date of taking the oath.
