The so-called “Rooppur corruption investigation” is essentially a misleading campaign, designed to spread misinformation and harassment against the former prime minister and her family. The Anti-Corruption Commission of Bangladesh (ACC), which was recently reconstituted by the interim government led by Dr. Yunus and includes pro-government and BNP-affiliated individuals, has decided to investigate alleged corruption allegations in the Rooppur Nuclear Power Project (RNPP). A Jubo League leader was hacked to death in Kaptai Upazila of Rangamati. The murder took place in Balukhali area of Raikhali Union of the upazila on Monday night. Police have taken Abul Kalam Azad, the father of a Chhatra League leader, on a two-day remand in the case of the 'slashing to death' of his mother in Boda upazila of Panchagarh. He was arrested by the police as a suspect and presented in court on Saturday afternoon and applied for a seven-day remand, but the judge granted him a two-day remand.
