Saudi Arabia has announced the formation of an international alliance with the aim of establishing a Palestinian state and implementing a two-state solution.
Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan said on Thursday (September 26) at the ministerial meeting on the Palestinian issue and peace efforts, with our European partners on behalf of Arab and Islamic countries, we announce the launch of an international alliance to implement a two-state solution. Speaking aside in the United Nations General Assembly in New York, he did not give more details about the alliance, but sued for such an international effort.
The Saudi Press Agency (SPA) said Faisal condemned the ‘catastrophic humanitarian crisis’ in Gaza war and strongly condemned the attacks by Israeli occupation forces in the West Bank. did
He also highlighted the killing of thousands of civilians, destruction of structures, forced displacement, use of starvation as weapons of war, incitement of hatred, inhumanization or sexual violence.
A Samat Faisal called for an immediate stop to the ongoing war and all violations of international law.
"We appreciate the countries that have recently recognized Palestine, we call on all countries and nations in the world to show courage and take the same step, including 149 countries that have recognized Palestine to join the international consensus that represents Palestine.
Prince Faisal said that the first meeting of the alliance will be held in Riyadh.
Besides, European Union foreign policy chief Josep Borell said that the next meetings will also be held in Riyadh and Brussels.
Prince Faisal also said that the initiative is a joint effort of Arabs and Europe, he said, "We will make every effort to implement a reliable and unchanging plan to achieve just and holistic peace."
The Saudi foreign minister insisted that the ceasefire and two-state solutions are on the way To advance, a collective decision must be made, the first step of which should be to establish an independent Palestinian state.
Meanwhile, Israel is bombarding the Gaza Strip incessantly, which has turned the land into ruins, which was the first of the war that started in response to the unprecedented attack by the Palestinian armed group Hamas in southern Israel on October 7 last year, killing nearly 1,200 people.
