Nepal Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli was ousted in September last year and is running for the general election in the month of its 100th month, hoping to regain power through the March 5 elections.
The election campaign in the country has started from Monday. KP Sharma is the leader of the Communist Party of Nepal-Unifited Marxist Leninist (CPN-UML) in the election, his rival in Kathmandu's methor Balendra Shah. The agitators also recommended his name in the interim government.
In the past week, Ali and Balendra have started campaigning in the eastern Jhapa-5 constituencies in the eastern region, which is an important center for the election campaign on Monday.
One of the 163,000 voters in the seat, 66-year-old Hima Karki, said, ‘KP Oli is essential for this nation. He is the savior of the country and his survivor is certain.’ Oli's vote bank is strong in the seat in the city and village millet.
However, the power of this communist leader is doubtful among the voters. ‘He is currently supporting Balendra, said the film, ’only youth can bring about change. Now we are politically aware and the perfect match for new Nepalese."
8 lakh are new in the election, 165 are elected by direct voters against 275 seats in the lower house of parliament. The remaining 110 seats are determined through proportional representation (PR).
At least 77 people were killed in the Genji movement in Nepal last September, followed by Sushila Karki's interim government, and the date of the general election was announced for a few days.
KP Sharma Oli, who resigned in the face of the movement, said he hoped to solve the problem of his withdrawal, which he had in a statement to a commission formed by the interim government last January, and denied the poisoning of the protesters. Oli has filed infiltrators for the loss of life in the protest.
