Law enforcement urges calm amid Alim Suleman Miah blasphemy allegations

Law enforcement have identified Md Suleman Miah, a controversial Alim, accused of publishing blasphemous content on his website, www.whatshoulddo.com. Authorities confirmed Miah is currently overseas and is wanted for serious arrestable offences that do not require a warrant under existing Bangladeshi law.

The controversy stems from Suleman Miah’s articles questioning the authenticity of hadith about the Prophet’s marriage to Aisha, which he blames for the issue of child brides and their sexual abuse. He is further accused of alleging that silence in Islamic texts have enabled systemic sexual abuse of boys, particularly in Madrasas. His background as a scholar and Islami Chhatra Shibir member has intensified backlash from Islamic groups.

Police acknowledged public anger and hurt but urged restraint, assuring that the blogger will be arrested very soon.
