UN to support important reforms
The United Nations will assist Bangladesh in reforming key institutions, including the police and the election commission, as initiated by the interim government, UN Resident Coordinator Gwen Lewis said. She said this during a courtesy call on Principal Advisor Dr. Muhammad Yunus at his office in Tejgaon on Sunday (September 22). The Principal Advisor’s press wing said that during the courtesy call on Dr. Muhammad Yunus by the UN Resident Coordinator in Bangladesh, they discussed reforms in various fields, corruption, floods, the Rohingya crisis and the UN-led investigation into the July-August genocide.
