Man killed in Lakshmipur truck crash, road blockade, vandalism in protest
Lakshmipur Pratinidhi: A man named Abul Kashem was killed after being hit by a truck in Lakshmipur. The accident occurred at around 8 pm on Saturday in the Hazirhat Bazar area of the Lakshmipur-Majuchoudhurihat road. Locals protested for an hour by burning tires and throwing tree trunks on the road in protest of the incident. Later, when the police went and assured them of justice, the locals moved away from the road. Traffic then returned to normal. The deceased Abul Kashem is the son of the deceased Bashir Ulya of Shakchar Union in Sadar Upazila. Police and locals said that Abul Kashem had come to Hazirhat Bazar from his home at night.
